Here we go again with that organizational filler crap. Don't know whether Ruf will continue his torrid pace next year. Do know teh BL ers know stats but not necessarily good ballplayers when they see them.
When is the last time the Phils had a rookie who performed like this?

I'm as excited as the next guy over Ruf's performance so far. But to pencil him in to a job on the Phils for '13 is premature. He's had limited time at this level. Granted, he's done enough to warrant some extra attention in ST, but he would have to continue to impress.

He'd also have to learn to play LF. He hasn't looked too bad, but he really hasn't been tested that much.

It would be outstanding (especially from a financial standpoint) to have Ruf be the starting LF in '13. But to say that he's already earned that job is a bit far fetched. In my opinion, he hasn't. But he has certainly earned a shot to win the job.

Rbill: thats my exact feelings. I think its most people's feelings too, but i'm just trying to comb through the comments of "Ruf hit 2 hr tonight! I was right, everyone else was wrong!" and find out what "being right" even means.

Yo, newer thread

If Phils think they need a .174 hitting utility player on the roster for 2013 it doesn't matter who they sign in the off season.
It's pathetic or should I say he's.
