Um, isn't the moral of the Werth story that classless fans were cheering a player's injury?
Are people really pissed about what Werth said, and not the fact that it's embarassing to all of us as Phillies fans that some people were telling him he "deserved" to get hurt?
That's what I'm pissed about. If there were Phillies fans taunting Werth for being injured, they should be ashamed of themselves, and I'm embarassed to be associated with that. It's what gives Philly a bad name (almost entirely unfounded, usually).

Jack: I neither condone nor participate in that sort of thing, but I also think Werth's attitude toward Philadelphia & Phillies fans throughout his last season here & since went a long way toward baiting that element. He shouldn't act so surprised.
