The Phils have never suffered a four-game sweep at the hands of the Nationals since they moved to Washington.
Roy Oswalt will have the ball in the series finale and if history is any indicator, he should fare pretty well. In 113 career innings against Washington, he has surrendered just 37 earned runs on 93 hits en route to a 2.95 ERA. Laynce Nix, however, does give Oswalt some problems (12-for-28 with four doubles, three homers and six RBIs), and he'll be hitting fifth for the Nats tonight.
The Phils will count on the following nine to avoid their sixth straight defeat: Rollins SS, Victorino CF, Utley 2B, Ibanez LF, Gload 1B, Ruiz C, Bowker RF, Orr 3B and Oswalt P.

HEY! Can you state anything MORE obvious??? OF COURSE these six losses(and counting) will mean nothing if the team wins the W.S.? DOH! We ALL know that. Many of us are concerned that this offensive malaise is indicative of something that goes deeper and is in fact a serious problem and just might derail our post-season hopes!

Let's all calm down and make a concerted effort to not be too disconcerted with the Phillies recent performance.
