While we wait for today's matinee, be sure to check out Jim Salisbury's analysis on what yesterday's washout means for the starting rotation. Essentially, they could skip Joe Blanton tomorrow and pitch Roy Halladay on regular rest. Or, they could stay in their slots and push Roy Oswalt's next scheduled start back a day, allowing more time to evaluate his back. Read Salisbury's take here >>>

I just want to say, I have observed his career from the beginning and he has always reported to ST out of shape and with a bad attitude towards his physique. Not to mention, he was always sneaking an extra piece of cornbread while nobody was looking.

You should have beaten him more, Granny. I don't really advocate skipping Blanton but, I just wish there were a way to have his next start come against SD instead of Milwaukee. Only way that happens is if they skip him tomorrow and Oswalt goes on regular rest. Won't happen.

I like the idea of staying in slot, partly because I like how the rotation lines up, but mainly to give Oswalt some extra time to recuperate. Starting pitching is what is going to carry this team. They need to be wary of the big picture.

If Savery keeps hitting in Clearwater, Rizzotti will have a legitimate shot at the Triple Crown at Reading.
