CBSSports and MSNBC have picked up reports that Jamie Moyer re-injured his elbow today while pitching winter ball in the Dominican Republic.
At least one of the reports appears to originate with Dominican journalist Dionisio Soldevila. According to the report, Moyer, who was making his debut with Escogido, left the game after two innings. Club GM and former major leaguer Moises Alou reportedly suggested afterword that he believes that Moyer's career is likely over. Moyer turns 48 on Nov. 18 and became a free agent after the World Series. This photo, posted to Soldevila's twitter thread minutes ago via a follower, confirms that Moyer took the mound tonight against Licey. It may in fact be the last time the 24-year big league veteran ever takes the mound. The left-hander was originally drafted by the Cubs in 1984.
