Phillies pitcher Jon Lieber, interviewed at last weekend's South Alabama Hall of Fame game, spoke with the Mobile Register about catcher Todd Pratt's role in the final two months of the season.
"He told me he didn't think I was being as aggressive as I should be, as aggressive as I was earlier in the year," Lieber said of Pratt's advice. "He's an aggressive player and he wanted me to add more of that to my pitching. He said I was trying to be too fine with my pitches. He was right."
Lieber went 8-3 during the final two months, including 5-1 in his final seven starts to finish 17-13 with a 4.20 ERA.
Pratt became a free agent and signed a one-year contract with Atlanta this offseason.
