Buyers and sellers at the same time, indeed.
Jayson Stark reported today on ESPN’s Insider the Phils are listening to trade proposals for just about everybody, with the exception of Bobby Abreu and Chase Utley, but only if they get back players that give them a better chance to win right now.
Tops on Stark's list is Jim Thome, but he says chances of moving him are less than slim with only mild outside interest at the moment. Billy Wagner remains the team’s most tradable commodity and was scouted by the Red Sox, he reported.
Also, the Yankees (UPDATE: and Rangers) are monitoring the Vicente Padilla situation, in addition to Endy Chavez for center field.
Beerleaguer thoughts
It's interesting Brett Myers isn't on the list, indicating they're scared of offseason arbitration. I'd trade Abreu, too, but there would need to be serious booty involved. Now's the time to trade Padilla after a good start, but not to the Yanks because they don't have much to offer.
If they sold everyone mentioned above for prospects (Thome, Wagner, Padilla, Chavez), they would still be competitive.

Man, if the Yanks want Chavez and Padilla, I'd unlosd those two so fast for any kind of decent prospect. That Chavez could be the most pathetic ML hitter I've ever seen. And get rid of Padilla now before he goes south again! Put Madson in the rotation to take his spot.
